Danielle Peck Wins Round Two of the 2009 MIMIC Challenge Over Katie Melua

It was another close battle this month with Danielle Peck getting an average score of 3.4 compared to Katie Melua's average score of 3.1.  Both ladies scored a perfect 5 rating from one MIMIC member!  Ratings and comments from all MIMIC members are posted below. 

Peck will return at the end of the year to compete against Billy Joe Shaver and our other monthly winners for the title of 2009 MIMIC Artist of the Year.   Our next monthly competition will begin in about a week.  In the meantime, these two lovely ladies are featured in YouTube videos below for your listening and viewing pleasure.

Comments: I really tried to like these women cause they're hot (especially KM), but didn't like their music much. I'm kind of stuck between 2 and 3. Really what I want to say is "OK, but wouldn't listen to it again" for both of them.

Danielle Peck Comments: Throw in a lifesize, look alike, blowup doll and a copy of Kiss You on the Mouth and you have a Billboard #1 hit (At least with the men).  Danielle has a Shania Twain sound to her voice.  This gal is really good!  I really liked all three songs, especially the first one.  Has she ever been on TV or a major tour?

MimicMaster's Note:  I think she's done some USO-type tours in Iraq.  I'm sure the troops loved her too.  Excuse me now as I'm off to check her website store for the blowup doll.

Katie Melua Comments: A really bluesy (sp?)sound to My Aphrodisiac is You.  I really liked the voice but wasn't diggin the lyrics to any of the music.  Her voice would be really good on a Disney movie soundtrack.  I think that I would prefer her voice in a different genre.

Danielle Peck Comments: I hope she gives credit to the Lyle Lovett song, "God Will", for her song "I Don't" since it is a complete copy.

MimicMaster's Note:  Agreed.  For those of you who don't know the Lovett song check out the YouTube video at left (of a guy doing a cover of "God Will".... sorry I couldn't find the Lovett version on video) and compare it to Danielle's "I Don't" also on video at left.

Katie Melua Comments: I know I have heard the song "Crawling Up a Hill" and "Nine Million Bicycles" before.  I think it was on XM.
